Writing for Publication Demystified

Thomas Erb
This workshop is designed to make participants more comfortable with the process of writing for publication in professional middle level journals. Experienced editors and authors will take participants through the submission, revision, acceptance, and editing process. They will also offer guidelines for improving writing and work with participants in small groups to provide feedback on article ideas and answer participants' other questions about writing for publication.

Differentiated Leadership—Leading the Whole School!

Randy Thompson
Leading change in schools has been compared to herding cats, or trying to nail Jell-O to a tree! Regardless of your leadership position, attendees will leave this session with practical strategies to identify the dynamic systems in your school, get everyone invested in the process, implement an easy-to-use model of change, establish PRs (personal responsibilities) for everyone in the building, and much more. All strategies will be ready for immediate use on Monday morning.

Tiering Assignments

Rick Wormeli
Some students are ready for the first steps of a topic, and others are ready for advanced assignments in that topic. So, how do we tier assignments to maximize learning at all levels? Join us as we look at how to increase and decrease complexity of assignments while meeting objectives, all within one class period. We will provide specific tiered assignments as well as the skills needed for tiering assignments and assessments on your own.
